The age old question... Well at least as old as the internet, how can we convert traffic into sales! There is a great tool within Google Analytics that allows you to see where people are clicking on your website. It's a really simple one... Where your visitors are clicking should be where your "Contact Us", "Buy now" or "SALES" pages are.

The layout of a webpage can have a detrimental effect to visitors finding information and/or sales pages immediately. Look to make your landing page or homepage visitor friendly, allowing potential customers to find the information they want, when they want it. The BEST strategies to increase your website’s traffic!

The average business or individual has no idea about SEO. Most probably do not even know what it stands for. SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimisation. The purpose of SEO is to put in place systems that ensure your website ranks higher on Google and Yahoo so you can drive more traffic to your website. SEO basically helps you to increase your presence on the internet. The benefits of SEO are obvious. A good SEO system will increase the number of visitors to your website, which will hopefully widen your client base and bring you more sales.

Because a lot of people are clueless regarding what SEO is, it naturally follows that most people are not aware of even the most basic strategies that can be implemented to increase website traffic. This article will outline the fundamental aspects to concentrate on when attempting to enhance your internet presence.

First and foremost, the older your domain name the better. Search engines favour websites that have been around a long time. Therefore, it may be a good idea to research a few domains that are relevant to your website and look into buying one that is up for sale. Having a 10 year old domain name is a huge advantage when trying to rank highly on search engines.

It is often said in the SEO world that ‘Content is King’. The majority of SEO experts believe that relevant, optimised content is the most important facet involved in ranking highly on search engines. This should always be your first port of call when it comes to attempting to optimise your website. The trick to ensuring you have relevant and optimised content is through astute placement of keywords.

The next thing to consider when optimising your website is researching your competitors. Have a look at who is ranking highly in search engines for relevant popular keyword phrases and attempt to identify why. You can then emulate them. It may be that some competitors have excellent content, placed in all the correct positions. Other competitors may have an exceptional number of high quality backlinks. Backlinks are a very important component of SEO. It is first important to know that you can find out all of your competitors’ backlinks through any number of free backlink checker programs available on the internet. Creating a high number of quality backlinks is central to any successful SEO system. This can be achieved through any of the following methods: article submissions, commenting on blogs, directory submissions, posting on forums, press releases, or through social bookmarking.

Finally, it is imperative that you search the internet far and wide for the best SEO tools that will make your task of developing a successful SEO system much easier. There are a variety of free SEO tools all over the internet that should be very helpful to your cause.
